Double Feature - Cloud 9 & For Colored Girls....

The Barbados Community College's annual showcase of the Bachelor of Art Degree in Graphic Design ‘Portfolio’ will take place at the Grande Salle in the Central Bank of Barbados. The exhibition entitled ‘Cloud 9’, is the student designers' exploration of concept and media through a variety of visual styles that reflect their personal and professional growth through a range of topics including type design, product development – textiles and furniture, branding, publication design, packaging, campaigns, web design, animation, and video. A private viewing will be held on Tuesday May 8th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The public opening will take place the following Wednesday, May 9th until Saturday, May 12th, 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There is no admission fee. NB Images of the BCC Graphic Design students can be viewed in the ARC Magazine May 2012 edition. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There will also be a special opening of Portfolio on Sunday the 13th of May from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Theatre Arts Department production of Ntozake Shange’s ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf’ which is slated to start showing on Saturday, 12th at Frank Collymore Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets at $30 are available from 18 April at Pro Photo (Sheraton Centre), Mpowered (Mall Internationale), BCC Book Source and UWI Bookshop and i-tickets (Cave Shepherd).
